Art Students League Archive Edit-a-thon

On Friday, September 29 2017, join the Smithsonian Libraries and Wikimedia DC to explore resources related to the Art Students League of New York and share them via Wikipedia. During this training, attendees will learn the basics of how to edit Wikipedia by updating articles that are relevant to the Art Students League of New York. Librarians from the Smithsonian Libraries will provide an introduction and access to a large archive of reference material that was recently donated by the Art Students League of New York.

Wikipedia is an openly editable resource, meaning that you can improve the quality and accuracy of Wikipedia entries. As one of the web’s most visited reference sites, Wikipedia serves as a starting point for many individuals looking to learn about art, artists and art history.

See additional details (what to bring, how an edit-a-thon works, etc.) on Wikipedia.
