Susan Battley is the founder and CEO of Battley Performance Consulting, a boutique advisory firm to world-class leaders and boards. She is an internationally recognized authority on strategic leadership and boardroom effectiveness.
A frequent expert commentator on leader trends in the national news media, she holds doctoral degrees in economic history (PhD with Distinction) from Stony Brook University and clinical psychology (PsyD) from Long Island University. Her articles have appeared in leading business and professional publications, including Leader to Leader, Oxford University Press Handbook of Psychology, Leadership Excellence, Forbes and Fast Company.
Fast Focus on Success, her radio program on leadership excellence, was commended for its innovation by the Clinton White House Office of Science & Technology Policy.
Susan serves on the Board of the Metropolitan Opera Guild and the Advisory Council of the Harvard Business Review. She is a Governance Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors and a Founding Fellow of the Institute of Coaching at Harvard-affiliate McLean Hospital.
Prior to starting her firm in 1998, she was an academic administrator, consulting psychologist, and professor and scholar of Tudor-Stuart England. She and her husband, Edwin (Ted) Battley, are long-time residents of Stony Brook, Long Island, New York.
