Visiting the Library Branches
The Smithsonian Libraries and Archives serves Smithsonian researchers, curators, and staff as well as scholars and the public with collections in 21 locations in Washington, DC, Maryland, New York, and Panama. The Libraries and Archives has collections and staff in most of the museums and research centers at the Smithsonian. Most of the central offices of the Libraries and Archives, including the Office of the Director, Advancement and Public Affairs, and Technical Services and Digital Services departments are located in the National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC.
