102. Tartaglia produced this pioneering work in the study of ballistics
and how it can benefit from mathematical analysis. He was able to demonstrate
convincingly the true path of a cannonbal fired from a cannon and how it
would not be straight, but follow a curved trajectory.
The table of contents (following the title page) calls for 5 books, when, in
fact, there are only 3.
