A scarce work on the natural history of the Casentino valley —held by only 4 libraries in the U.S.— these two volumes describe the botany, zoology, and geology of the long valley in northeastern Tuscany which contains centuries-old forests (now a national park) and the headsprings of the Arno river.
Condition and Treatment:
Two volumes in original paper wrappers. Some surface dirt. Attached to press-board pamphlet bindings in mid-20th century. Conservators will remove from binders, surface-clean paper covers, and create drop-spine box to hold both volumes.
