By Wolfgang Vennemann. Berlin: Buchdruckerei Gebr. Mann, 1932.

A portfolio of thirty-two mounted black & white photographs of peoples of Egypt, Sudan, and Uganda – living along the Nile. The copy at the Afrian Art Museum Library is lacking two of the photos.

Condition and Treatment:

Condition: A portfolio made of paper and cloth housing photographs of a 1932 African Safari. The volume is number 168 of a limited edition. The 32 photographs are mounted on high quality paper. The text portion of the portfolio has some foxing that discolors the paper. The photographs are in good condition with some of the mounting papers suffering from bumped edges. The portfolio itself shows signs of wear with the cloth hinges failing and the paper flaps detached.

Treatment: Consolidate the portfolio replacing the paper flaps if necessary. Create a custom clamshell box to house the portfolio to further protect the photographs.
