The Day-Glo Designer's Guide

Put on your sunglasses!

This 1969 trade catalog from the Dayglo Corp. was published during the heyday of the psychedelic era, but fluorescent paint and pigments were invented and used decades earlier by the Switzer Brothers. Fluorescent dyes were used in industrial applications for manufacturing, military and safety purposes. This catalog details the history of flourescents, as well as diving into its commercial and fine arts uses, like the series of Day-Glo serigraph prints of Marilyn Monroe by Bert Stern (originally published in Avant Garde magazine).
