The Smithsonian Libraries presents “The Curious Mister Catesby,” a panel lecture and book signing, Tuesday, April 14, at 5:30 p.m. in Baird Auditorium at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. The event is hosted in collaboration with the Catesby Commemorative Trust and is free and open to the public.

The Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL), headquartered at the Smithsonian Libraries, welcomes the Comisión Nacional para el Conocimiento y Uso de la Biodiversidad (National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity, or CONABIO) as a new member and global node.
The Smithsonian Libraries will hold the 2014 Dibner Library Lecture Thursday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m. in the Warner Bros. Theater at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. The lecture is free and open to the public.
The Smithsonian Libraries will award grants to Baird Society, Dibner Library and Penick Resident Scholars in the 2015-2016 acacemic year. These competitive grants are offered to historians, librarians and bibliographers, as well as predoctoral and postdoctoral students, with an approved research project.
