Finding Full Text Science Articles
Some databases do not include the full text of articles. Below are several methods you can use to find and access the full text of an article.
•Copy and paste the article title into OneSearch on the Libraries’ Research Tools page.
•Search the Libraries' catalog (SIRIS) for a physical print copy of the journal title.
•Search the Libraries' e-Journal list for an electronic subscription to the journal within other databases.
•Search Smithsonian Research Online (SRO) for a SI-affiliated author’s work.
•Search Google Scholar as there may be an open source copy available.
•Speak to a librarian in a nearby library branch for assistance.
•If the Smithsonian Libraries does not own a full-text copy, interlibrary loan (ILLiad) can quickly obtain requested materials.
