Salima Appiah-Duffell

Library Technician

Salima offers circulation, interlibrary loan and light reference services as a Library technician for both the Hirshhorn and the American-Art Portrait Gallery Libraries; focusing on serials at the latter institution.

A native of the DC area, Salima has been a lifelong patron of the Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo. Before the Smithsonian, she worked as a Program Analyst for the Department of Housing and Urban Development and also served in the Peace Corps.

Salima recently earned her Masters of Library Science at Catholic University, with a concentration in Cultural Heritage and Information Management.  She also has a BA in Peace and Justice Studies from Tufts University.
