Musterblätter für Gold- und Silber-Arbeiter und Juveliere

Berlin: [s.n.], 1836-1837.

"Enthaltend die neuesten Formen von Gefässen und Silberwaaren aller Art, so wie geschmackvoll moderner Bijouterien." Pattern sheets for gold-and silver-workers and jewelers: containing the latest forms of vessels and silverware of all kinds, as well as tastefully modern jewelry.
The Cooper-Hewitt Design Library owns many rare pattern books and this is an example of the kind of trade manual which serves as a primary document in the history of design - in this case, as a handbook for the gold and silver objects and jewelry that designers come to our library to research.

Condition and Treatment:

Three issues of a periodical (with their original wrappers) bound into a paper and leather cover.  The leather on the spine is suffering from red rot and there is a piece of masking tape adhered to it with the title information.  Conservators will re-back the volume, replacing the leather spine if it is not salvageable.
