This handbook published in 1940 has a detailed section on “The Girl Scout Movement,” including a history of the Girl Scouts, a biography of Juliette Low, and information on how to form and join a troop. The other two sections provide ideas for activities like arts and crafts, sports, and dramatics, as well as, rules for earning badges, insignia, and ranks.

The 1930 handbook outlines the requirements to earn proficiency and special badges covering many skills and interests. It also provides instruction on subjects like knot tying, gardening, woodcraft, first aid, and signalling. 

The 1920 handbook outlines everything a Girl Scout should know, including the history of the Girl Scouts, forms for ceremonies, camping instructions, and an extensive guide on nature study with many photographs to help identify plants, animals, and birds.
