Italian Renaissance : photographs [graphic], [between 1870 and 1889?]

A rare collection of early photographs, some hand-colored, probably made for tourists in Italy. This volume is the only known copy worldwide, according to the OCLC/WorldCat database, which records items held in publicly accessible libraries.

Condition and Treatment: 

This is a half-bound album in sheepskin with cloth. Upper cover is loose and leather joint is worn on the lower cover. Spine is worn with areas of missing leather and inside cloth joints are split. The outside board needs reinforcement with toned linen and the inner tab also must be reinforced. The losses in its spine covering need to be replaced.
