This is a Cooper-Hewitt Museum Library folio of more than 40 illustrations of Victorian era buildings designed by Hazelhurst & Huckel of Philadelphia—colored in "ready mixed" paint shades created by Harrison Bros. & Co. (Philadelphia & New York). Product information on the paint shades for various parts of each building is included of the reverse side of each large chromolithographic plate. The Harrison catalog continues to this day to be a valuable resource in the preservation and restoration of period 19th century structures.

Condition and Treatment: 

Portfolio with loose plates. Cloth binder is panel stamped with paper label on front cover. 37 color lithograph plates with text on verso. Spine of binding torn, loose. Plates brittle and damaged on edges.  Conservators will perform paper repair on plates. Encapsulate in mylar L-sleeves. Reback portfolio binder to wrap around encapsulated illustrations. Create enclosure to hold repaired binder and plates for shelving and access.
