The Vertical File consists of clippings, files and ephemera concerning the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, Panamanian Culture and the Panama Canal Watershed.

Housed in the Library Annex, researchers must work with Reference Staff to pull folders for perusal in the Library Reading Room.

Materials are shelved alphabetically by subject.
