Join us live on Facebook as we explore the life and art of Elizabeth Gould. Gould, wife of English ornithologist John Gould, is an oft overlooked contributor to natural history. As a 19th century artist, she was responsible for some of the most historically significant images of birds ever published.

Our look at Elizabeth Gould’s life will be led by Alexandra Newman, Reference Librarian in our Joseph F. Cullman 3rd Library of Natural History. It will include many examples of Gould’s art from rare ornithological books in the library’s collection.

To attend, simply tune in to our Facebook page at 1 pm ET on Friday, March 22nd, 2019. Event will also be recorded for later viewing.

This event is part of #HerNaturalHistory, a celebration of women in natural history, organized by Biodiversity Heritage Library for Women's History Month.
