Note: This procedure covers the most frequently encountered WCP/shelf ready problems. If the particular circumstance isn’t covered here, there should be instructions with the piece on how to resolve the issue.

Barcoded/labeled piece received—no MARC record

  1. Search OCLC for a quality record. If piece needs original cataloging, place on the Purchased OC materials backlog shelf.
  2. When you find a quality record, copy catalog as you would any other SIL title.
    1. Make sure you export any new/updated authority records needed.
    2. Make sure you overlay the provisional Horizon bib record.
    3. Use the barcode already provided by GOBI.
  3. Edit the item record per usual practice.
  4. Confirm that the call number on the record matches the call number on the label.
    1. If the call number matches: Use the circulation module to put the item in transit, and place the piece in the appropriate shipping cubby.
