- Chronicle of Philanthropy (SI staff. Network credentials required for access. If you are not on the SI network, enter the site via the link to Chronicle of Philanthropy on the Libraries' A-Z list ): Primarily hosting news about philanthropy and philanthropic gifts, the Chronicle of Philanthropy also includes lists of Requests for Proposals (RFPs). COVID-19 related funding opportunities are included in a Grants Roundup that was posted on July 6, 2020. Other Relevant Websites
- National Science Foundation: NSF is accepting proposals to conduct non-medical, non-clinical-care research that can be used immediately to explore how to model and understand the spread of COVID-19, to inform and educate about the science of virus transmission and prevention, and to encourage the development of processes and actions to address this global challenge. Note: As of March 12, 2020, Secretary Bunch announced an agreement signed between the Smithsonian Institution and the National Science Foundation (SI staff) allowing NSF competitive programs to be open to Smithsonian federal and trust employees.
- National Institutes of Health: NIH maintains a list of recently released NOSIs (Notice of Special Interest) for “Urgent Competitive Revisions and Administrative Supplements on Coronavirus Disease 2019” encouraging “COVID-19 behavioral and social sciences research.” Some of the research funding that may be of interest relates to economic and social impacts of underserved populations.
